This Chinese restaurant-style fried rice recipe just is the BEST. Since frying rice goes way back -- possibly thousands of years -- maybe even further than chicken or beef. Way back, in fact. Like specifically, back during oh so many years of oh so many glorious generations that last oh so long, when there was no Asian food whatsoever -- well, no Asian food was considered "real" food.



Oh, sure, there were sweet and sour things along the way, but they were more for purposes of preservation than anything else. And as far as nutrition goes, there was nothing all that special or even natural about these types of foods. Like for instance, when you're making a fried rice recipe with spinach, the most logical thing to do is not to cook it with onions or garlic. Why? Well...they will simply end up making the dish taste AND smell like an Eastern soup!



You know what I'm talking about. Fried rice isn't really all that different from any other type of stir fry and stir-fries come in all sorts of flavors and ingredients. So, why make fried rice with butter? Well...it's just plain old-fashioned good old-fashioned taste. Just because it's fried does NOT mean it has to be bad!



The first step in making the best-cilantro lime rice  is to get all of your ingredients ready before you begin frying. First off, your vegetables (sweet potatoes and onions should be at room temperature) should be chopped into chunks. Second, you will need to gather together your cooking oil (seafood fat is preferable), your vegetable oil (vegetable oil works just as well), and lard or bacon drippings (you should discard these if you are replacing them with something else). Also, be sure to scrape off any grease or food particles off of both ends of your nonstick frying pans. After you have all of your ingredients ready, you're ready to begin cooking!



When the cooking is over, you can serve your dish with either the onions and sweet potato at the center, or with your rice (whichever you prefer). As for the recipe...the best-fried rice recipes have a secret ingredient that comes from the Sesame oil that you cook with. The Sesame oil adds a wonderful flavor to the dish, but also a very strong scent...a must-try! It definitely makes a difference in the finished product, but you can use the Sesame oil in place of any other oil that you may wish to add.



There are no secrets to making fried rice that only the most expert cooks will ever learn, but these few tips should get you started in the right direction. Once you find that your favorite recipe has been perfected, make it in the slow cooker and allow it to come to a perfect velvety smoothie on your next vacation!
